Multiple donations for the same person on the same date

A donor may give two different donations on the same date.  To enter the second donation find the donor's first donation.  Then click on [Add (F8)] in the menu bar or press F8.  The amount fields will become blank and you will see #2 shown in red to indicate that you are entering a second donation.  Then continue with any more donations to be entered.

For example, a donor makes two donations. The first donation was $50.00 in cash to the General Fund and the second one was a check for $100.00 to Building.  To record this you would enter 50.00 in the General Fund, then click on the Cash (Bills) button.  For the second donation, press F8, then enter 100.00 for Building and give the check number.
Pressing Page Up will show you the first donation.  (You may have to press it several times if the donors are sorted in the order entered.) When the first donation is shown you will see #1 in red and pressing F8 will display the second one.

You might not be aware that the donor made two donations.  You may be entering donations and then discover that a donor already has a donation on the date you are entering. This will be indicated by a beep and several items being shown in red, such as the donor's name, some headings and the amounts.  When you notice this, you should press F8 and enter the second donation.

Another situation you may encounter is someone who uses several payment methods and wants it split into several categories that don't match any of the individual payments.  For example, someone could give a check for $50 and cash of $40.  They want it split into three parts with $30 in each category (General, Building and Missions).

Here is how to enter it:
1. Enter the check and cash, putting the amount for each in any category.
2. When you are on the 2nd one, you will see a button at the bottom called 'Split Donation'.  (The button does not appear when you have only one payment method.)
3. After typing the last one, click the 'Split Donation' button and you will see the total of all the entries.  In this example it would show 90.00.
4. Split the amount between the categories.  In this example you would put $30 in each category.  When the categories add up correctly the total on the right will turn green.
5. Press ENTER or PageUp, or go to another donor.
The amounts for each payment method will be adjusted so that the total for the categories will be right.
You may need to go back or ahead if you want to check how the amounts were split.  This is because if you press ENTER it goes to the next entry/donor.  If you press PgUp it will go to the previous entry.

So in this example it would probably split it like this:
 General  Building  Missions
Check    30    20
Cash     10    30
Total    30    30    30

Follow these steps for any other such splits.
