Using the Salutation and Dear fields:

The Salutation and Dear fields for each donor determine:
a) how names appear on mailing labels/envelopes/receipts,
b) how the field {donors:dear} displays on letters/emails and
c) how the Dear field is exported.

The following examples show the ways you can use it when the name is John Smith:

    Name on Labels, First Name on Letters/Emails
