Getting a new computer or re-installing/upgrading Windows
When you get a new computer or have to re-install Windows follow these steps to transfer Donarius®. This will insure you do not lose any data. You can also use these steps to install Donarius® on a second computer.
1. If you are purchasing a new computer, make a backup of your data on your old computer to a CD or memory stick. Click on the word Backup near the bottom right of the main window, to backup the data. If you downloaded Donarius® from our website, the backup will have a copy of the DONSETUP.EXE file that you downloaded. If you upgraded Donarius® to a newer version, the backup will also have a file called: DONUPDATE.EXE or DONUPGRADE.EXE.
2. If you have re-installed or upgraded Windows, check if Donarius® and your data are still on it. If everything is fine, you are done. Otherwise continue below.
3. Insert the backup memory stick or CD into your computer. Find the files DONSETUP.EXE, DONUPDATE.EXE or DONUPGRADE.EXE. Double-click the one with the most recent date, to install Donarius®.
4. Start up Donarius®. You will then be asked to setup the software - just click Cancel. Then you will be asked for information about your church or organization - click Cancel there too.
5. You may see a message that you have a demo or expired version. Ignore that for now. Insert your latest backup memory stick or CD into your computer and click on the word Restore on the main window. Click on the drive and folder with the most recent data. (If it is not shown, click Browse to find it.) Then click Replace current files...
6. Sometimes the software may ask for an activation code. Make sure you have restored the data from your backup. If this happens even after you have restored, then just contact us, tell us what your new serial number is and we will give you a new activation code free of charge.
