Printing church offering envelopes
To print church offering envelopes, use a custom letter and print the date of each week in the year onto each envelope together with each person's envelope number and anything else you want. This enables you to use blank envelopes and print them yourself, rather than ordering pre-printed envelopes from a printing company. One size of envelopes you could use are #6 envelopes (3 5/8" x 6 1/2") which are available from many suppliers. (Some companies call this size #8.)
Print the envelopes as follows:
1. Click on Mailings and choose View Letters.
2. Donarius has three sample offering envelopes. Where it says Letter to view choose one of these:
Offering-env No Bible verse
Offering-verse Has a Bible verse
Off-freq-cat Shows categories donated to most frequently
3. Enter a date range starting with the date you want on the first envelope up to the date you want on the last envelope.
4. To print envelopes for one person enter their envelope #. To print envelopes for everyone who has an envelope #, leave it blank.
5. Click OK.
On the screen you will see only the first date but when you print, the date of each week will be on a separate envelope.
To print blank offering envelopes with no date and no envelope number but blank lines for the donor to write their name/address, choose Offering-blank for Letter to view. Type the donor# or envelope # of any donor. Click OK to display it then print it and choose how many copies you want.
If you want a different format for your envelopes, make up a sample using your word processor and send it to us. (The first one is no charge and additional ones will be charged a $20 setup fee.)
Usually you put the envelopes into the printer sideways (i.e. in landscape mode). If your printer requires envelopes in Portrait mode, click on Mailings and choose Setup Letters. Where it says Letter to edit, select the offering envelope format you want to use. Then in the first line change {paper landscape} to {paper portrait} and click OK.
