Saving eTransfer Emails

To save each eTranfer email you get from your bank, it will depend on how you access your emails.
Follow the steps below:

Outlook (Desktop Version)

1. Click on the eTransfer email.
2. Go to the File menu and choose Save As...
3. Where it says Save as type choose Text Only.
4. Find the folder where you want to keep the eTransfers.
5. Click the Save button.
6. You may get a message that it already exists - change the name by adding a number at the end.
    This can happen when someone donates twice in the time period of your folder.


Thunderbird

1. Right-click on the eTransfer email and choose Save As...
    You can also save a group of emails by highlighting several emails, then right-click them and choose Save As...
2. Find the folder where you want to keep the eTransfers.
3. Click the Save button.
4. You may get a message that it already exists - change the name by adding a number at the end.
    This can happen when someone donates twice in the time period of your folder.


Gmail (accessed with browser)

1. Click on the subject of the eTransfer email.
2. Near the top right, click on the 3 dots icon and choose Download email.
3. You may or may not be asked where to save it, depending on your browser settings.
    If you are asked, then find the folder where you want to keep the eTransfers and save it there.
    If you are not asked, your browser probably saved it to your Downloads folder.
    You then should move the file from there to where you want it to be.
4. You may get a message that it already exists - change the name by adding a number at the end.
    This can happen when someone donates twice in the time period of your folder.


Yahoo (accessed with browser)

1. Right-click on the eTransfer email and choose View raw message.
    The text of the message will appear in a new tab.
2. Go to the File menu of your browser and choose Save page as...
    Or right-click the text and choose Save page as... or Save as...   
3. Find the folder where you want to keep the eTransfers.
4. Type a file name and add .txt to the end.
5. Click the Save button.


Microsoft Email  e.g. hotmail, outlook, live (accessed with browser)

1. Click on the subject of the email.
2. Near the top right or the message preview, click on the 3 dots icon, move to View > and select View message source.
    You can also right-click on the email, move to View > and select View message source.
    The text of the message will appear in a pop-up window.
3. Highlight all the text, right-click it and choose Copy.  (The text has been copied to the clipboard.)
4. You have two ways to save this text to a file:
    a) Go to Donarius and click on Save Clipboard.  Then find the folder where you want to
         keep the eTransfers, pick a name for the email and click Save.
    b) Using Windows Explorer go to the folder where you want to save the emails.
        Right-click on a blank part of the window, move to New > then click Text Document.
        Double-click the file, right-click on a blank part of the window and choose Paste.
        Go to the File menu and choose Save.
        Close the window.
        Rename the file.


AOL (accessed with browser)

1. Right-click on the eTransfer email and choose View message source.
    The text of the message will appear in a new window or tab.
2. Go to the File menu of your browser and choose Save page as...
    Or right-click the text and choose Save page as... or Save as...   
3. Find the folder where you want to keep the eTransfers.
4. Type a file name and add .txt to the end.
5. Click the Save button.
